Peka prison project

DG3 project titled 'PEKA PRISON PROJECT' was founded on our commitment to promote action towards healthcare experiences for incarcerated women in Cameroon.

Prisoners in Cameroon face a plethora of injustices and women being the most vulnerable arm of the society face two times the burden than their male counterparts, and the health administrations in prison do not always take into consideration the specific health needs of women.

The root causes of these problems emanate from human rights abuses, inadequate policies, and non-inclusive prison healthcare. It is on this premise we have as our mission of this project to facilitate access to healthcare, and promote and proect the health rights of women in prison, while creating more gender sensitive prison administration system and penitentiary adminsitration school through advocacy and capacity building by implementing projects in prisons round Cameroon and the entire CEMAC eventually.

This project was implemented in Buea central Prison SouthWest Region Cameroon in collaboration with WOMEN DELIVER.

Join us to continue to promote and protect the health rights of incarcerated people and the promotion of rehabilitation programs for incarcerated people upon their return to society.
